Drama Club

  • Produces student-run plays

  • Student directors run 8 workshops to get to know new actors and to determine their dedication and suitability and so that their decisions are not based on a single audition

  • Workshops are open to all students who want to try out acting and have fun. They run from 3:15-4:45 pm, October to November

English Public Speaking

Each year QAA English students in Cycle 1, Years 1 and 2 and Cycle 2, Year 1 participate in the QAIS Public Speaking Competition alongside their private school counterparts. The competition is an excellent opportunity for students, not only to hone their writing and speaking skills, but to develop the confidence necessary to deliver either a persuasive or an after-dinner speech for an authentic audience.

Girls for the Cure Organizing Committee

Junior Volunteering Program

Eight hours (minimum) of mandatory, in-school volunteering is required per year at the Academy. Secondary 1 and 2 students are also encouraged to volunteer their time outside the school.
All such activities are overseen by staff members and a moderator who records student participation. At the end of the year, parents will receive a letter indicating that the hours required for this program have been met. If not, the student must complete the remaining hours during the summer months, before returning to QAA the following August.

Lenten Project

Queen of Angels students have generously participated in projects that have brought aid to many people around the world. They have raised funds to aid a village in Mexico, a school in the Tamil-Nadu region of India, refugee girls in the Congo, an orphanage in Burkina Faso, a school in Ghana and most recently, in 2009, 32 girls from Honduras who because of help from QAA students, were able to pursue secondary education. Each year a new project is chosen and students are encouraged to participate in a variety of ways.
