Community Service
Angels in Action Program
WHO
- All Secondary 4 and Secondary 5 students
WHAT
- Angels in Action, also known as the Christian Service Program (CSP), is QAA's volunteer service project.
WHY
- Community service, an integral part of education at QAA, encourages students to demonstrate compassion, commitment and citizenship.
- Students are taught to be responsible for the welfare of others by becoming involved in their community.
- Students develop self-confidence, pride and maturity.
- Students develop "real-world" work skills and explore possible careers.
WHEN
- After school or on the weekends from the beginning of Secondary 4 to Christmas of their Secondary 5 school year
or
- During the summer months between their Secondary 3 and Secondary 4 school year and between their Secondary 4 and Secondary 5 school year
HOW
- Students sign up and return the Parents' Permission letter.
- Students decide on a placement, then email , Angels in Action Coordinator, for placement approval.
- After completing their CSP, the students' placement supervisor completes and signs their Evaluation Form.
To obtain their QAA diploma and attend the QAA convocation ceremony, students must receive a passing CSP grade of over 60%.

Scholarships
In recognition of outstanding community service, QAA offers three scholarships.
The CSP Award
$100. No application required.
Criteria
- Continuing involvement in community service after minimum commitment of 30 hours has been completed.
- Minimum grade of 85% in CSP.
- Extraordinary efforts and endeavors to engage with the community and/or to develop oneself.
The YMCA Award
One-year membership to the YMCA. No application required.
Criteria
- Continuing involvement in community service after minimum commitment of 30 hours has been completed.
- Minimum grade of 85% in CSP.
- Extraordinary efforts and endeavors to engage with the community.
- Involvement in sports, athletic or recreational activities (either as a personal extracurricular or as a volunteer).
The QAA Foundation Award
$250. Application required (obtain from the Foundation office.)
