QAA's Amazing Science Fair

Answers to many questions were found at Queen of Angels Academy’s extraordinary yearly Science Fair on Sunday February 7, 2010. A significant event at QAA and a great learning experience, the Science Fair gives students the opportunity to research scientific topics of most interest to them.

Over 80 judges including scientists, doctors, biochemists, pharmacologists, engineers, university and college professors, teachers, parents and alumni evaluated students’ projects. Students were marked on their research methods, proper usage of scientific terminology, theories, questions, solutions and conclusions.

Coordinator of the Science Fair for the past 25 years and head of QAA’s Science department, Susan Pamboukian, stated that students have been working on their projects since the start of the school year in September.

Science Fair teaches students to use the scientific method to experiment, analyze and reach a conclusion. It also fosters teamwork as students work in pairs on their projects; and effective written communication, analysis, information processing and social skills.
